Native to Korea, Japan, and the Ussuri River area of far eastern Russia

Pyrus ussuriensis is a deciduous Tree growing to 15 m (49ft 3in) at a fast rate. It is hardy to zone (UK) 4 and is not frost tender. It is in flower in April, and the seeds ripen from Sep to October. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by insects. (pfaf.org)
