Life History:  Perennial

Growth Form:  forb

Native to areas of northern Africa, western Asia, Caucasus, Siberia, Middle Asia, China, Middle Europe, Eastern Europe, Southeastern Europe, and Southwestern Europe.

Perennial herb native to the Mediterranean region. Grows to 3 feet tall. Can be single or multiple-stemmed. Leaves are palmately compound with 5-7 leaflets and serrated edges. Leaves and stems are covered with long, stiff, erect hairs.  Flowers are pale yellow, with notched, heart-shaped petals. Reproduces by seed and vegetatively, by stem shoots from root crowns.
