Name of Variety, or Name of Cultivar:
Bailmer

Life History:  Perennial

Growth Form:  shrub

Deciduous shrub with a rounded habit 3-4' high and wide. Leaves are serrate, obovate to elliptic, dark green,and  4-8” long. Large globose flower clusters of mostly showy sterile florets repeat bloom from midsummer to fall. Florets are blue in acidic soil and pink in alkaline soil.

Hydrangea macrophylla, native to Japan, is a popular ornamental flowering shrub in the United States. "Unlike other H. macrophylla cultivars, ENDLESS SUMMER (1) blooms on both old and new growth and (2) is winter hardy to U.S.D.A. Zone 4." (MOBOT) 'Balimer' is currently being sold as ENDLESS SUMMER THE ORIGINAL.
