Lathyrus nissolia L. (grass vetchling) is a mid-sized (20-60cm), erect-statured, reportedly annual pea native to parts of Europe and the larger Mediterranean region. Its "leaves" are grass-like and technically only flattened leaf petioles, typically 4-12 cm long and with no tendrils. It occurs in moist fields and meadows where it has spread to dominate in some wetland meadows in Mendocino County, CA.
