Growth Form:  shrub

Caucasus

Gray-green foliage with red stems. Prickles found mostly at the base of stems. Deep pink single flowers borne singly or in clusters of 2 to 7, followed by ornamental red fruits.

Endemic to the Caucasus and not widely cultivated. Closely related to Rosa pendulina (sometimes listed as Rosa pendulina var. oxyodon), the alpine rose, from central and southern Europe.
