Central to southern United States and northern Mexico.

Euphorbia dentata is an erect, single (but branched) stemmed annual forb that grows to 20-50cm in height. Leaves sometimes hairy, lance-shaped, toothed, and can grow to several cm long; basal leaves are opposite. Inflorescence is mostly green to pale green or whitish. Seeds are gray - black, rounded, grooved, and bumpy.
This species is native to the Midwest, some eastern states in the U.S., and northern Mexico. It has been introduced into eastern Asia, California, eastern Canada, and the eastern United States.
